Q: Someone please tell me, that's SO not neutral in my opinon. What do you think?
A: In terms of 'art and its colors,' yes.. it is primary. But, in defense, this may have been taken out of context, I'm not sure how the phrase was intended. In a much greater sense, any color, if isolated, may be 'neutral,' if employed as a completely saturating entity or exclusive experience. It then becomes 'a given,' as there exists no conflict with another color, it is at once, by the broad definition, 'neutral.' Technically, monochromatic means one color, but in interior design, for example, it became synonymous with neutral. It is also, with reference to gender, non-specific or neutral.
