Q: For my senior exposition we have to compare ourselves to an artist or a movement.... Who or what does mine remind you of? http://fc07.deviantart.com/fs28/i/2008/135/b/b/Bosco_Oil_by_KatieLawannaEat.jpg http://fc53.deviantart.com/fs27/i/2008/135/8/c/Waiting_for_Inspiration_by_KatieLawannaEat.jpg http://tn3-1.deviantart.com/fs18/300W/f/2007/206/a/9/Amy_Lee__The_Open_Door_by_KatieLawannaEat.jpg http://fc78.deviantart.com/fs25/i/2008/073/9/c/This_is_happiness_by_KatieLawannaEat.jpg http://fc08.deviantart.com/fs29/i/2008/073/c/9/Dramatic_drapery_by_KatieLawannaEat.jpg Not really current work. I need to upload more from my camera--- just an idea of how my style (or lack there of =P) is. Just to clarify. 1. My cat walking over a fallen tree. 2. A self portrait- freshman assignment. 3. Amy Lee of Evanescence in marker/colored pencil. 4. The emotion "happiness." Also an assignment. 5. Drapery study- Charcoal. One of my favorites.
A: The cat one looks kinda like Cezanne (your strongest piece) and can even do without the cat. The self portrait kinda looks like kandinsky cept yours is figurative (I can make out real objects,..the flower,..the coffee cup)and cartoony The amy lee one looks like patrick nagel,..1980's playboy magazine illustrator. The happiness one is muddy no 'clean' bright colors. mixed brushworks styles,....stick to one. it doesn't come across as happiness the style doesnt remind me of anyone. the drapery looks like a life study cept for the surreal profile of a mans face on the left. check out M.C. Escher,...kinda.
